Summary (read this first): Ear Cleaning Guide is a free entertainment ASMR ear-cleaning simulator you play in the browser. Today we do not run ads, do not use Google Analytics, and do not require an account. The playable Level 1 may keep a mute preference in your browser only. This is not a medical product and is not affiliated with Geisha Tokyo’s Earwax Clinic.
Who we are
This unofficial fan-style guide and HTML5 remake is maintained for research and overseas distribution experiments around the TapTap Maker game 《解压掏耳屎》. Contact for privacy questions will be listed here once a public domain and inbox are live.
What we collect today
- No account data — you do not sign up.
- No server-side gameplay profile — wax progress lives in the page session until you reload.
- Optional browser storage — if the mute / sound toggle is saved, it uses
localStorageon your device only and is never sent to us. - Standard hosting logs — when hosted (e.g. Cloudflare Pages), the CDN may briefly see IP address, user-agent, and requested URLs for security and reliability. We do not sell that.
Cookies
In the current no-ads build we do not set marketing cookies. If a future consent banner appears, it will gate analytics or personalized ads before those scripts load.
If we add analytics later
Planned options (not installed yet): Cloudflare Web Analytics and/or Google Analytics 4 / Search Console after a real domain is bound. If GA4 is added, we will disclose it here, prefer IP anonymization where available, and link Google’s policy. Until then, treat analytics as off.
If we distribute via GameDistribution or show ads
GameDistribution’s HTML5 SDK is mandatory for games in their network: it serves ads and tracks gameplay / ad impressions. Their end-user policy explains device data, IP-based coarse location, cookies / pixels / SDK / local storage, and usage metrics. Before we ship a GD build we will:
- Link GameDistribution’s end-user privacy policy from this page;
- Obtain or pass through consent where required (including consent strings into iframes when we embed);
- Honor SDK / publisher “no tracking” signals when the host site requests them;
- Keep a clear “Advertising partners” section naming SDKs actually loaded.
Until that ship, the ×2 Rewards button on Level 1 stays a disabled placeholder — it does not load an ad SDK.
Children
The game is light entertainment, not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Parents who believe a child provided data through a future contact form can ask us to delete it.
Medical disclaimer (not privacy, but important)
Sounds and visuals are for relaxation and play only. Do not use this site as ear-care advice. Real ear pain or blockage needs a clinician — not a browser game.
Your choices
- Clear site data in your browser to remove any local mute preference.
- Use browser tracking protection / block third-party cookies if ads are added later.
- Opt out of many interest-based ads via aboutads.info or youronlinechoices.eu (EEA).
Changes
We will bump the “Last updated” date when ads, analytics, or a new host changes this policy. Material ad-SDK changes will get a short notice on the home page for at least seven days.
